Arsenal are firing again under Unai Emery, who’s rescued the team from the slump they were regrettably experiencing under legend Arsene Wenger.
It’s been 15 games in all competitions since the Gunners last lost, which is remarkable considering the state they were in last season.
Fresh faces have been brought in to revitalise essential areas of the squad and they’ve seemingly all paid dividend – the football they’re playing is genuinely a joy to watch. Even the individuals who were previously waning at the club under their old boss look like they’ve found a new lease of life.
As expectations rise, there’s always going to be a few players who fail to make the cut. With that in mind here is one player that really needs to improve if he wants to be with Arsenal next year…
With Nacho Monreal, 32, heading towards the twilight stages of his career there’s a real opportunity for Sead Kolasinac to stake his claim in the starting full-back place.
If it wasn’t for the fact that he keeps getting injured, there’s no doubt that the big Bosnian would be playing for Arsenal week in, week out, as the quality he quality he possesses is immense.
He’s as good at attacking as he is defending; plays with a determination that is second to none; and he’s incredibly powerful, heading into challenges like a freight train. He’s a fan favourite to be.
There are a number of players in the current lineup that have already turned a corner under Unai Emery, including Hector Bellerin and Alex Iwobi, so there’s no reason Kolasinac can’t do the same in 2019.
