Unai Emery should be on the lookout for potential January transfer targets to ensure the Gunners maintain their form.

Replacing Arsene Wenger was always going to be difficult, but Emery has made an excellent start to life at the Emirates. Following a rocky start with back-to-back defeats with Chelsea and Manchester City, Arsenal strung together a fantastic win streak which was broken against Crystal Palace. Nevertheless, Emery deserves plenty of plaudits for the transformation he has made at the club thus far.

To continue their impressive form and potentially mount a title challenge, Emery should be on the lookout for potential transfer targets. The window reopens in less than two months, and Arsenal’s rivals are expected to strengthen. One man the Gunners should be watching is Lille sensation – Nicolas Pepe.

The Ivorian has been the star of the season so far in Ligue 1 which has resulted in his market value increasing to £22.5m according to Transfermarkt. The 23-year-old enjoyed an excellent debut campaign after joining from Angers last year. Despite scoring 13 league goals, no top European side managed to secure his services in the summer.

Pepe has shown exactly what people were missing out on following an extraordinary start to the new campaign. The youngster has netted seven goals and registered seven assists in Ligue 1 already and is quickly emerging as one of the hottest prospects in world football. Competition is likely to be fierce; Arsenal should move quickly to snap him up.

With blistering pace and fantastic dribbling ability, Pepe would slot seamlessly into the Arsenal forward line. The Gunners are desperate for a natural winger, and the 23-year-old would give them another dimension when going forward. Still young and improving, the Emirates could be the perfect home.
