‘Pivotal’ talks to be held this week over potential Arsenal deal

The loss to Stoke City over the course of the weekend really has annoyed the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern.

Indeed, after a summer packed with so much optimism, our north London locals are expecting another frustrating campaign under Arsene Wenger, so really could do with some cheering up.

So, reports from the Daily Mail have intrigued the Gooners propping up our bar.

They claim top brass at the Emirates are due to hold talks with England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this week, in an effort to resolve his future at the club.

Out of contract next summer, Chelsea are believed to have seen a £25m offer snubbed for the former Southampton man, who has established himself as a wing-back under Arsene Wenger of late.

Arsenal are said to be eager to keep him with the club and the talks reportedly due to be held this week are ‘likely to prove pivotal’ in regards to his future with the club he joined back in 2011.

A popular figure in our bar, our local Gunners really want him to stick around.

Landlord’s Verdict:

It is vital Arsenal keep their man. If a Premier League rival manage to unlock his potential, they’ll be missing out on a man who could potentially start for England in major tournaments to come.

His versatility is key to a side battling on many fronts, so it’s imperative they find a resolution.
