The arrival of Alexandre Lacazette has seriously excited the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern, as well leave manager Arsene Wenger with quite the selection headache heading into the new season.
Indeed, the Frenchman’s club record arrival at the Emirates has cast doubt on Olivier Giroud’s future at the club, with the likes of Danny Welbeck, Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez also battling for the central striking berth.
With that in mind, last season’s summer signing Lucas Perez has been linked with a move away from the club. Former club Deportivo La Coruna and Newcastle United have both been touted as potential landing spots for the 28-year-old, though reports from Spain have shed further light on that matter.
According to La Voz de Galicia, the aforementioned La Liga outfit are ready to pull out of any race to land the marksman as they cannot match the Gunners’ reported demands. They claim Branquiazuis believe there is ‘no possibility’ of an agreement as the valuations are so far apart.
Perez reportedly despaired at this and, while many of our north London locals don’t believe he was given a fair crack of the whip by Wenger, believe he should be sold as soon as possible.
Perez is clearly a talented player, though surely cannot continue at Arsenal now Lacazette has also arrived. Signed at an unfortunate time, the Spanish forward must leave to save his career instantly and perhaps a move to another Premier League club could help his chances of redemption on these shores.
