The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have their eyes fixed on our TV while their beloved Gunners square off against Chelsea.
Still, many of our north London locals are somewhat distracted by some unwelcome transfer reports today.
That’s because Real Madrid are plotting a sensational move for want-away Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez, reports Don Balon (via Football London).
Sanchez had been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates during the summer with Manchester City but was unable to complete to switch to the Etihad, with Arsenal desperate to hold on to their star man.
Now available on a free next summer after his contract expires, it is Madrid who have turned their attention to the Chile international, and club President allegedly already in contact with the player over a potential move to the Bernabeu.
The Spanish giants are reportedly confident of being able to secure a deal for the winger for a cut-price in January, though are also prepared to wait until next summer in order to steal Sanchez on a free.
Should Madrid indeed make a formal move for Sanchez, they would face competition from a number of clubs including Manchester City, with manager Pep Guardiola likely to go in again for the unhappy star.
