After signing Granit Xhaka, the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are dancing with delirious delight at the prospect of landing another big money European player this summer.
Having been strongly linked with a move for Juventus forward Alvaro Morata for a number of months now, the Spaniard has talked up the prospect of moving to England.
Former club Real Madrid are understood to be looming large over the deal, further complicating matters due to the the buyback clause they inserted into the deal they agreed with Juventus back in 2014.
Though he is a product of their youth system and a fan of the club, Los Blancos could ultimately end up selling the forward off to an English side for further profit.
While the La Roja forward has talked up his desire to succeed with the Spanish giants, he has revealed his openness to moving to these isles in an interview with Spanish outlet AS.
‘Clearly that is what I would like. That is my wish, to succeed in Madrid.
‘But in Madrid there are great players. And what I want is to play and feel important. There are some offers from England that are tempting, not only by contract.
‘I think for my characteristics the Premier League would also be a great destination.
‘I’m saying a move to the Premier League would not be a step backwards. With what I have learned in Italy, if I have the chance to learn something more in England I think it would make me a more complete, better player.’
Would Morata be the ideal signing for Arsenal this summer?
