Prolific Spurs targets on Arsenal’s striker wish list, Wenger plots major moves after Vardy snub

Arsenal’s striker search has taken them pretty much around the globe, with punters in the Transfer Tavern dreaming about a plethora of blockbuster names.

While Jamie Vardy’s snub of the Gunners may have caused them slight embarrassment, manager Arsene Wenger doesn’t appear to be dwelling on that deal too much.

According to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, the French tactician is weighing up two big attacking names to sign in the England man’s stead.

Both Islam Slimani, strongly linked with a move to bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur, and Lyon ace Alexandre Lacazette are also believed to be on his hit-list.

Ironically enough, the latterly named Frenchman is also understood to have attracted the attention of the White Hart Lane outfit, as well as West Ham United.

While neither name was thought to have been as high up as that of Everton striker Romelu Lukau’s, that deal could prove to be far too expensive for the notoriously stingy Arsenal chief.

Neither Olivier Giroud or Theo Walcott have convinced in central striking berths and both men were partly blamed for the club’s failed title tilt last term.

Who should Arsenal really sign as their main striker?
