Arsenal fans around the Transfer Tavern are happy to see the resurgence of their team. With little to play for domestically, the Europa League could still be a route into the Champions League as Arsenal return to where they belong.
This season, the Gunners have spent significantly more than previous campaigns on new players in order to make a push for the Champions League once again. Unfortunately, this hasn’t been the case but Arsenal still have the foundations of a great squad.
Having delayed the new contract of Mesut Ozil just a few months ago, that same mistake simply cannot happen with Jack Wilshere if Arsenal are serious about building their team for the future. With the World Cup on the horizon, Wilshere may even find himself on the plane this summer if his good form continues.
Wilshere has shown since returning from Bournemouth last season that he can still be Arsenal’s main man in midfield having played terrifically this season. Valued at £16.20 million on Transfermarkt, the midfield maestro has proved to be worth an in-defiant amount at times this season as us fans have had the honour of seeing the very best of the 26-year-old.
But with rumours flying around this week about other clubs sniffing around the no.10, Arsenal must quickly resolve their contract difficulties and get Jack Wilshere to sign on the dotted line. For too long Arsenal have typically delayed contract negotiations but the same cannot happen with one of their most influential players if they want to eye long-term success.
Our fans at the bar have been delighted to see Jack Wilshere back to his best but would find it simply ludicrous if Arsenal don’t tie the Englishman down with a new contract. We actually agree that this could be the best transfer business the Gunners would do all summer…
