Arsenal definitely won’t want to miss out on the chance to secure a Champions League spot in the current campaign, after splashing the cash on a number of players back in the summer months.
The Gunners have struggled to ensure consistency after impressing earlier on this season under Unai Emery, which has allowed Chelsea to extend their top-four lead and Manchester United have also since joined the race.
Although, it appears as if the North London club are eyeing up a move for James Rodriguez, according to the Daily Mail, as Emery continues to search for Mesut Ozil’s replacement.
Sadly, this could force a couple of the club’s current first-team members to head for the exits. So, these TWO Arsenal players will surely have to leave if James Rodriguez arrives …
EMILE SMITH ROWE
Emile Smith Rowe has established himself as one of the hottest prospects in English football this season, after breaking onto the scene at the Emirates after a successful pre-season.
The attacking midfielder has been linked with a loan move to West Bromwich Albion already this month, which would surely make sense if Rodriguez was to join as it would ruin any chance the youngster may have had of enjoying his breakthrough in the Premier League.
Danny Welbeck is currently out on the sidelines recovering from a second ankle operation on his broken right ankle, so he won’t be back in the Gunners’ ranks for a long while.
Sadly, he has only managed to start seven games for the London club this season, as the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette continue to dominate. And, with Rodriguez potentially making his way to the Emirates, it would only complicate things for the Englishman as he’ll have to compete with another attacker.
