Stunning Arsenal £20m deal for lethal forward scuppered by Premier League winner

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern who’ve been so excited to welcome Jamie Vardy into the ranks, dancing on the pool tables and the like, have been met with some perhaps unforeseen complications.

As the Gunners propping up the bar were sent into wonderland over the notion of having the England international in their ranks to frighten the life out of Premier League defences, reports in the Daily Telegraph have burst that bubble somewhat.

They claim that Leicester City will offer the 29-year old a new deal to remain with the title winners and spearhead their venture into the Champions League, rather than move to North London.

Though the former Fleetwood Town man is believed to have provisionally agreed terms with the club, the Foxes reportedly remain hopeful fresh terms can convince him to stay at the King Power Stadium.

He scored 24 goals last time out, emerging as perhaps their most important player as they marched to a historic title win.

Is Vardy the striker to win Arsenal the league?
