The imminent signing of Alexandre Lacazette has the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern dancing in delirious delight and the Gooners propping up the bar are excited about a potential title tilt next term.
Ever since winning the FA Cup back in May, our north London locals have been hopeful the tides are finally turning under Arsene Wenger, especially if the club can convince the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to stay at the Emirates.
Still, it’s not all been good news for the Gunners.
Indeed, the Daily Express claim key midfielder Santi Cazorla has suffered ANOTHER long-term injury blow, one that could rule him out until April at the very least. The Spaniard, a hugely popular figure amongst our resident Arsenal supporters, hasn’t featured since October, undergoing a multitude of operations since injuring his Achilles.
Now, following the latest reported setback, the 32-year-old may be facing being absent from the bulk of his final contracted year on the club’s books. With his current deal set to run out in the summer of 2018, he is only thought to face an outside chance of appearing in the final few weeks of next season.
As you can imagine, this has come as a blow to the Gunners in our pub, who were hoping the Spanish international would return promptly for the new campaign.
