In the mean time the young defender has won plaudits from all over the world and has drawn comparisons to French legend Lilian Thuram.
Sakho began to make a name for himself in 2007 when he became the youngest ever player to captain a Ligue 1 club under then manager Paul Le Guen and has since gone from strength to strength.
The Frenchman’s contract is due to expire next year and he is yet to pen a new deal putting him at the top of many manager’s wishlists.
Arsenal have been closely linked to the defender and Arsene Wenger admitted that he was impressed with the youngster against England. However he may face stiff competition from Liverpool’s Roy Hodgson and Tottenham’s Harry Redknapp who have both been rumoured to be interested.
Sakho is pacey and strong with a tenacious tackle, his ability to win the ball paired with his speed and flair allow him to spring attacks from the back and get involved with forward play. He is every inch the type of centre back Arsenal would desire.
But Arsene doesn’t just face Premier League competition either, Juventus, AC Milan and Inter have all been linked to the star. The 20-year-old is hot property at the moment and he looks like a dead cert to leave the Parisian club come the summer.
A bid of £8million could be enough with his contract expiration looming.
