Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern are ecstatic over the winter window signings Arsene Wenger managed to pull off, and will be hoping that it is the start of a purple patch for the long-suffering Gooners.
Our regulars in the bar believe that Wenger had pulled off a couple of masterstrokes in swapping Sanchez for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and bringing in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on deadline day, which coincidently reunited two of the most exciting Borussia Dortmund attackers in recent history.
Whilst speculation is always rife around Wenger’s future, the pressure seemed to be building all too much recently until their spectacular two-legged win over AC Milan, seemed to ease it ever so slightly.
Following that win at the Emirates, Wenger and his men will surely start to look to build a platform for next season, and many of the players could do worse than to look at Liverpool’s Mo Salah for inspiration going into the 18/19 campaign.
Although many believe that Arsenal are dire need of a defensive midfielder, these TWO attack-minded players can revolutionise the Gunners’ frontline next year and create a storm – much like the Egyptian has at Anfield…
