‘This is why England won’t go far’ – Arsenal fans on Twitter react to double inclusion

Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that both Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck have been called up to represent England in the upcoming friendly fixtures against The Netherlands and Italy at the end of the month.

Arsenal fans have been suffering a shocking club campaign in the Premier League, but the return to form of Jack Wilshere has been one of the few positives for the club. Wilshere has been one of a small handful of players who look like they belong in an Arsenal shirt at the moment, as the midfielder is set to play a starring role again in tonight’s second leg Europa League clash between Arsenal and AC Milan at The Emirates.

Whilst Wilshere’s inclusion has given Arsenal fans a reason to be pleased, the inclusion of Welbeck is a puzzling one, as even the Arsenal fans who watch the striker week in week out are questioning what he’s done to warrant a place. Injury to Harry Kane last week opened up a spot in the England squad for another forward, although even the most optimistic of Arsenal fans would’ve struggled to make a case for Welbeck being the most equipped to step into the squad.
