Arsenal could face the prospect of losing both Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey in the near future.

Ramsey’s departure has been all but confirmed with Unai Emery unwilling to negotiate new terms on a contract. The Welshman is the currently the longest-serving Arsenal player, but the Gunners are not prepared to meet his wage demands. Despite remaining an essential member at the Emirates, it’s likely the Wales international will leave on a free at the end of the season with a host of European clubs interested.

He could be joined through the exit door by Ozil if the latest reports are to be believed. The German playmaker has struggled for fitness and form in recent seasons, and Arsenal are desperate to get his mammoth £350,000-per-week wages off the books. Inter Milan are interested in luring the former Real Madrid man to the Serie A, but a loan move could be the only solution at the moment.

To replace him, Arsenal should make a move for former Chelsea maestro – Thorgan Hazard. Valued at £34.2m by Transfermarkt, the Belgian now plies his trade in the Bundesliga with Borussia Monchengladbach. Following a few seasons to adapt to life in Germany, Hazard is now starting to emerge from his brother’s shadow and make a name for himself.

The playmaker has been one of the top players in Europe so far this season, helping Gladbach to second in the table behind only Borussia Dortmund. Hazard has shown his eye for goal, netting an impressive 12 goals in all competitions from attacking midfield. The 25-year-old is the primary source of creativity for his side, creating seven goals for his team-mates this season, meaning he would be the ideal replacement for Ozil in Arsenal engine room.

Hazard can play centrally or on the wing making him the perfect option for Emery. Still improving and developing, offering him a second chance in the Premier League would be a masterstroke.
