‘Time to be disappointed again’ – Arsenal fans on Twitter react to Steve Bould comments

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to Steve Bould’s latest update on the squad’s fitness. Bould confirmed that Jack Wilshere trained with Arsenal squad yesterday, despite having to pull out of the England squad last week owing to an injury.

Jack Wilshere has developed a reputation for always managing to be injured. The Arsenal and England midfielder has returned to form as of late, with a number of commanding midfield performances that forced Gareth Southgate to include him in the England squad for the two friendly fixtures against Italy and The Netherlands over the last week. However, in true Jack Wilshere style, the 26-year-old pulled out of the squad due to injury meaning his wait for an England cap stretches to almost two years since he last played for England, in the 2-1 loss to Iceland at Euro 2016.

Wilshere will have to keep putting in the performances at club level to convince Southgate of his qualities as he misses out on more international fixtures. Arsenal have suffered an awful season so far as they sit 13 points away from their North London rivals Spurs in 4th and look set to miss out on the Champions League for a second consecutive year unless they can win the Europa League this season. The Emirates faithful face CSKA Moscow in the last eight of Europe’s second-tier competition and their season hinges on success as they hope to return to the Champions League next season.
