‘Took his time’ – Arsenal fans on Twitter react to Ivan Gazidis’ comments about club

Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been responding to comments made by the club’s Chief Executive, Ivan Gazidis. Reports by Sky Sports have revealed that Gazidis admitted to a fans forum that the club “isn’t in the place they want to be” at the moment, as the club sit 6th in the Premier League.

It’s seeming more and more likely that Arsenal’s only chance of returning to the Champions League next season is through victory in the Europa League this season. The North London club’s league campaign has hit a stumbling block in recent weeks, despite yesterday’s 3-0 win over Watford at The Emirates. Arsene Wenger’s side is currently 12 points off of the top four and with only eight league games remaining, it’s highly unlikely they’ll sneak a spot over the likes of Chelsea or Liverpool this season.

A saving grace for the London club this season could be the Europa League. Arsenal carry a 2-0 scoreline into their second leg game against AC Milan at the Emirates this Thursday after causing the Rossoneri all sorts of problems at the San Siro last week. Whilst a return to Europe’s finest competition would be a start for Gazidis and Wenger, the Gunners have still got a long way to go before they can start challenging for the Premier League again.

With that in mind, here are our resident Gooners’ hilarious responses to Gazidis’ comments:
