Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been in a fairly glum mood all day due to the news regarding one of their true icons which broke yesterday, however, the news of the potential return of another cult hero has given them reason to be cheery.
It was reported yesterday that, due to a disagreement with manager Arsene Wenger, the Gunners’ all time top goalscorer, Thierry Henry has left his coaching role at the club.
The Frenchman had been set to take a role as an U18s coach in order to complete his UEFA Pro Licence qualification, however the appointment was blocked by Le Prof.
However, according to reports in the Daily Mail, the powers that be at the Emirates have been in talks with another club legend to take on the role originally set aside for the former French international.
Former Arsenal and England captain, Tony Adams, is set to be appointed as a coach for the U18s alongside Kwame Ampadu.
During his Arsenal career, the Englishman amassed a spectacular trophy collection, winning four league titles, three FA Cups, two League Cups, three Charity Sheilds and a UEFA Cup Winners Cup (The predecessor of the Champions League).
Arsenal fans, we want to hear from you! Is Adams a good appointment as a coach? Do you think it was a mistake from Wenger to lose Henry? Let us know below…
