Arsenal have been completely dominant over the past month or so as they continue to ensure consistency under Unai Emery.
The Gunners struggled to find their feet towards the start of the current campaign, but they’re now one of the form teams in the Premier League and could join the race for the title. Indeed, the London club will be desperate to pick up where they left off after the international break, with a slip up undoing all of their hard work.
Worryingly, Unai Emery struggled for answers at times towards the start of the season and made a number of debatable managerial decisions, which did cost them in the race for the title.
With that being said, here’s a look at TWO of Emery’s biggest blunders…
Organisation and preparation
The Spaniard failed to enjoy a positive start to life in the Premier League as his side were completely dominated by Manchester City and suffered defeat against Chelsea.
Indeed, the Gunners looked incredibly disorganised in both matches as they were overrun in defence and couldn’t hold onto the ball in midfield, which automatically made them take a step backwards in the race for the title.
So, it remains to be seen as to whether the London club can actually challenge one of the bigger sides in the current campaign, as they seem to crumble under the pressure.
Unai Emery chopped and changed his side slightly towards the start of the current campaign and has only just recently identified a settled side at the Emirates.
Indeed, it is clear to see that his selection in their opening two Premier League fixtures was fairly questionable as the standout performers at this moment in time struggled to feature, with Alexandre Lacazette, Lucas Torreira and Alex Iwobi all settling for a place on the substitutes’ bench.
So, perhaps the Arsenal boss could have given his team selection a bit more thought prior to the start of the current campaign, as those two games could cost the Gunners dearly in the long run.
