With the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern eager to get back to Premier League action this weekend, there’s a mixed mood amongst our north London locals.
While the Gunners went into the break in good shape, a nasty looking injury to Shkodran Mustafi while on international duty with Germany seriously annoyed some of them, ahead of Saturday’s trip to Watford.
Arsene Wenger barely has a plethora of options available in central defence, so the World Cup winner’s potential absence certainly is cause for concern.
However, it’s not all bad.
Indeed, injury data analyst Ben Dinnery has taken to Twitter to reveal that the club are welcoming two other key first-team players back to full training. Both Danny Welbeck and Mesut Ozil are said to be returning to training today after spells out, with Francis Coquelin already reportedly back.
Welbeck should return to full training tomorrow, alongside Ozil.

Welbeck has been ruled out with a groin injury since impressing in the home win over Bournemouth, while Ozil has been struggling with a knee problem, so having both back will be a huge boost to Wenger.
With injury problems in defence, it’s important Arsenal have their vast array of attackers fit and firing. Never likely to keep a particularly tight backline anyway, Wenger will need his big stars to help blow teams away.
