Wenger drops forward hint after Arsenal’s abject outing

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been in sour spirits of late, having watched their knocked out of the EFL Cup following a dismal performance against Southampton.

After a 19-game unbeaten run, the Gunners had seemingly been starting to pick up some genuine momentum going forward and talk of a title tilt returned to the conversations of our north London locals.

Still, last night’s abject outing has crushed any such optimism for now and Arsene Wenger is a name lamented within our four walls once again.

However, is it really all that bad?

One of the more happy-go-lucky punters has spied quotes sourced from Le Prof following last night’s game in the Daily Express.

In them, the Frenchman appears to indicate that the long-forgotten Danny Welbeck could be in line to return to training this month, at long last.

“He is not far”, said the 67-year-old.

The England international has suffered a nightmare with injuries over the past few years and a knee issue picked up against Manchester City back in May ruined his chances of making the European Championships.

It’s good news for our Arsenal supporting drinkers, who cannot wait to see his pace and power once again at the Emirates.

Will all these injuries have an impact on Welbeck? Let us know below..
