“Two more years, two more years!” is a chant Spurs fans have been belting out over the past 24 hours or so in the Transfer Tavern amid suggestions Arsene Wenger is going to stay on at Arsenal despite the widespread protests among Gunners supporters.
It’s already been suggested that the Frenchman has committed to 24 more months in north London and now the Mirror echo that revelation while also stating that he has a long list of transfer targets ahead of the summer window.
Wenger may have to cope without key duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, so a number of big names are believed to be on his radar, including Marco Reus of Dortmund and Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette, and amid the candidates are Celtic pair Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney.
The Bhoys duo have played key roles in Brendan Rodgers’ side’s impressive 2016/17, in which they are on course to lift all three domestic trophies in Scotland and could go the entire campaign unbeaten in the Premiership, League Cup and Scottish Cup.
Dembele has been, arguably, the star of the show for the Hoops with 17 league goals to his name, while Tierney is seen as one of the most talented young players north of the border and is already a first-team regular despite being just 19.
The former could go some way towards filling the void Sanchez’s potential departure would leave, while the latter would address issues at left-back.
Is Moussa Dembele ready for the Premier League?
