Gunners fans have been celebrating all day here in the Football Transfer Tavern after their boss has finally laid out plans to bolster his squad this summer.
Speaking after his side ran out 2-1 over the MLS All-Stars, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger admitted that he will need to look on the market in order to bring in some more attacking options.
Le Prof said:
“At the moment I have not too many attacking options in terms of experienced players,”
“But let’s not forget we still have a few players at home,” he added.
“There are also a few players who did not play against the MLS All-Star team, like Santi Cazorla and of course Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey are at home. Olivier Giroud is also not here.
“So we have options but we will still look outside to find one more.”
The Frenchman has already stated that in the light of Per Mertersacker’s serious injury he will be looking to add to his defensive lines as well.
The North London side have been linked with a whole host of strikers this summer, having been snubbed by Leicester’s Jamie Vardy and then losing out to Juventus over Gonzalo Higuain, Wenger is now chasing Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette, with a fresh bid reportedly in the pipeline after his first approach was rejected.
