Remaining almost entirely dormant in the transfer market hasn’t endeared Arsene Wenger to the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern.
At points last season, the tide appeared to be turning on the 66-year old in North London, with the Gunners still lacking a lethal forward to fire them to an elusive fourth Premier League title under Wenger’s stewardship.
With the divisive figure that is Olivier Giroud likely to be left out of the squad for the season opener against Liverpool, the Daily Mail claims the club could actually be set for a new striker to start.
However, it’s Alexis Sanchez.
Though few teams in the world would snub the chance of fielding the all-action Chilean in their starting XI, no doubt the Emirates faithful were hoping to see the 26-year old lining up with another big name.
Due to the fact that Theo Walcott has failed to wholly convince in the berth, the former Barcelona ace could well be deployed in a central role.
Could Sanchez be the striker Arsenal are searching for?! Let us know below…
