Wenger’s title hopes take another blow as Arsenal suffer fresh injury concern

Having watched their title aspirations all but end following a dismal loss to Watford yesterday, the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been drowning their sorrows at an alarming rate. Lamenting life under Arsene Wenger, it’s fair to say the north London locals in the bar are in low spirits.

Having had to endure a dry January on the transfer front, it seems the Gunners are now embarking on their annual February slump, so those propping up the bar desperately need some cheering up. Well, reports from the Daily Mirror don’t do much on that front.

They’ve revealed midfielder Aaron Ramsey suffered a calf strain in the loss at the Emirates last night, limping off as the Hornets shocked Wenger’s side. It’s another frustrating moment for the Welshman, who missed much of the early part of the season with a hamstring problem, rarely returning to form since.

While the local Arsenal fans in the Tavern don’t believe the 26-year-old is the man to lead them towards the title, they’re gutted to see yet more injury problems wreck their season as their title fades away even further.
