Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern really are desperate to see this season end after what’s been another torrid campaign.
The club started the season so strongly, too, but really fell apart from Christmas onwards to now leave them with a serious chance of falling out of the top four spots for the first time under Arsene Wenger.
For sure, things need to be sorted quickly with the likes of Alexis Sanchez under-performing as well as the rest of his team-mates and speculation growing about the future of many at the club.
Keeping their best players, then, will be a hugely important task and it appears their chances of keeping Hector Bellerin are looking slimmer than they were.
Speaking to Spanish newspaper Sport and quoted via The Daily Mail, the right-back revealed just how highly he regards Barcelona and how special being linked with them would be. He said:
“It’s nice there are a lot of big clubs that are interested in me, but if one of those is Barcelona, that’s special. I don’t forget I grew up in that home and I will never forget my stay at Barcelona.”
More worrying news for Arsenal fans, then, who must be wondering whether they are going to receive any good news before the end of this campaign.
Our landlord almost has pity for them, too, but at the end of the day it really is a problem largely of their own making.
