Yet more big Arsenal problems hinted at

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have endured a very difficult time of things over the last few weeks.

Indeed, coming off the back of two losses on the bounce, the Gooners drowning their sorrows aren’t quite sure who is most to blame for their seemingly constant malaise.

While Arsene Wenger fronts most of the blame, those upstairs at the Emirates Stadium often invoke the ire of our north London locals. The players don’t fare much better.

With nobody in the first-team currently looking as if they’d get into any other top six Premier League side, one man who’s stock has dropped rather a lot of late is Shkodran Mustafi.

Linked with a move away from the club over the course of the summer, BBC Sport journalist David Ornstein has shed more light on his matter while posting on Twitter.

Ornstein released some statements on social media attempting to answer questions in regards to Arsenal’s business in the summer window. In that, the German’s situation is addressed.

He claims Mustafi asked to leave the Emirates Stadium, something that reportedly suited the club well, as they are understood to have been ‘disappointed’ with him following his arrival from Valencia for £35m last year.

The only issue seems to be the fact Arsenal couldn’t bring in a replacement, much to the surprise of our resident Gooners.

While Mustafi is far from perfect, they consider him one of the club’s better defenders.
