Metro have Arsenal fans looking up keenly here in the Football Transfer Tavern and they contain some news that is even more impressive than the three goals scored by Danny Welbeck in the Champions League last night.
The Gunners are reportedly considering a massive £55 million bid for Edinson Cavani, who is ‘sad’ at Paris Saint-Germain and would be keen on a move away from the Ligue 1 side.
Our regulars note that Cavani has been linked with moves to Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in recent seasons and we certainly think that the rumours will go on and on – especially when we consider the comments made by Jerome Alonzo.
The former PSG goalkeeper claimed that Cavani is now so sad at the club, he is ‘unrecognisable’ and would jump at the chance to leave the Parisian club.
There have been constant rumours that Cavani is unhappy at the Ligue 1 side and the fact that he often plays second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic does not really help matters.
However, as our regulars quip, he would certainly be appreciated like never before at the Emirates Stadium!
