Arsenal’s January swoop THREATENED by £60,000-a-week deal

Winston Reid Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have started nattering after The Mirror explained how Winston Reid has warned West Ham United they’ll have to give him a giant pay rise in order to stay at Upton Park.

It is apparent that Reid, who has played a key part in the Hammers’ early season success, is demanding a £60,000-a-week salary and a £1 million signing-on fee.

Arsenal are amongst other English giants who are interested in the New Zealand international such as Liverpool and Manchester United but it is feasible that if the Irons boost Reid’s salary, they may be able to ward off interest from the big boys.

That said, the majority of punters believe that with the 26-year-old entering the final year of his contract in East London, he is likely to be prised away from Upton Park this January.

Sam Allardyce faces a tough choice heading into the New Year with the club either tying him down to a new deal or if that is not possible, cashing in on him in January and avoiding the risk of losing him on a free.

Arsenal fans. It’s clear to every man and his dog that you need defensive reinforcements and fast. Would Winston Reid make an excellent addition this January?  Let us know your thoughts below.
