Ivan Perisic, according to Sky in Italy (via Sky Sports), is a target for Arsenal. He’s said to have handed in a transfer request in light of a loan move from the Gunners – and so it’s clear that, at the very least, Unai Emery has a chance of getting his man.
Arsenal may have to offer some more guaranteed finances, but Perisic is seemingly eager for the move, and that’s an exciting prospect for the Gunners.
The club have lacked a natural winger like the Croatian for a while, particularly one of his quality, and so he’d likely come in and immediately command a starting berth under Unai Emery. But just who might play alongside him?
You’d expect Perisic to feature on either the left or the right of the Arsenal attack, and though he’s more capable on the left, perhaps a role on the right makes sense. He’d offer direct offensive play, with a desire to drive towards defences and make an impact crucial to his game. He has tremendous mobility and agility, and that makes him an incredible threat moving forward. He’d add goals to this Arsenal attack, which is a terrifying prospect for opposing players.
On the other flank, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should feature. The Gabonese forward has proven himself to be a viable option on the flanks thanks to his brilliant work-rate and energy. He’s regularly seen tracking back and defending, and he’s also always eager to get forward. He’s one of Arsenal’s best players.
Of course, the two players would likely swap around regularly throughout the game, and so neither would be stuck out of position for too long.
That, naturally, paves the way for Alexandre Lacazette to keep his place in the attack. The Frenchman has looked good this season, and his brilliant finishing has been on display all year long. He’s quick, he’s technical, he’s a hard worker and, in truth, the Frenchman has everything needed to take Arsenal forward. He’s had a fantastic 18 months in England – and he’s only going to get better.
This attack is good enough to rival any other team in England. With so much pace and energy, it could truly take the Gunners to the next level.
