Arsene eyeing move for Serie A hitman

Fernando LlorenteArsenal fans are looking up with interest here in the Football Transfer Tavern as the Daily Mirror have noted that the club could well be set to boost their striking options this January.

As our landlord points out, Arsenal fans were more than a little bit disappointed during the summer after their long pursuit of Luis Suarez failed to pay off.

The consolation prize of Mesut Ozil was a fine one indeed, and could well see the club challenge for the title this season. The German international has even inspired the revival in form of Olivier Giroud, who has been sensational so far this term.

That being said, Arsene Wenger is keen to boost his striking options, and is eyeing a move for Juventus forward Fernando Llorente.

The Spaniard made the move to Serie A this summer, but has thus far failed to settle and would not be against sealing a move away from the club this January.

For Wenger to land the forward, he would have to fight off competition from Real Madrid, who would consider a swoop for the 28 year old should they manage to offload out of form Karim Benzema. That is another option for Wenger this winter, with rumours growing that the Gunners could well move for the Real Madrid outcast.

As one of our punters claims, it will certainly be a merry go round this winter!

Will Arsenal fight for Llorente? Let us know your thoughts below.
