Arsene Wenger makes shocking admition about his Gunners future after FA Cup victory

At long last, the Arsenal fans lining the bar here in the Transfer Tavern have something to cheer about after their team brought home the FA Cup at Wembley yesterday.

Thanks to a 2-1 victory over Chelsea, the Gunners finally added to their trophy haul and appeased some of the supporters that have attacked the team all season-long.

But the result now makes things more difficult in regards to Arsene Wenger’s long-term future at the club, with everything now up in the open regarding his position at the helm of the Emirates.

And after the victory, it’s clear the French gaffer feels that he’s the man for the job despite what some of the supporters think.

“There is no perfect way,” Wenger told Standard Sport. “I just want to do well for this club. It’s down to the board members [to ask] am I the right man to lead this club further and for me to decide if I’m the right man.

“It’s not about popularity. It’s about competence,” he added.

The Gunners boss is expected to sign a two-year contract extension but with concerns growing after the club’s poor fifth place league finish this season, could we see change afoot at the Emirates?
