The Arsenal fans are still breathing a sigh of relief following on from their close encounter with Leicester on the opening day.
Reports from the Sun have indicated that Arsene Wenger might be willing to hit Marco Asensio’s £72 million release clause to bring the Spanish sensation to the Emirates.
The Real Madrid attacking midfielder recently made history by becoming the first player ever to score in his first games in five separate competitions.
At 21-years-old Asensio is already a key player within Zinedine Zidane’s set up at the European champions, with the reports also suggesting that he will be using the interest from Arsenal as leverage for a new deal at the Bernabeu
Should that be the case, Wenger might want to make a move quickly and see if he can persuade the Spaniard into making the switch to London.
With Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil still yet to sign new deals, Arsenal are in need of some star power in their side and Marco Asensio already looks like a world class player so imagine what he could be in a few seasons time.
Granted it is highly unlikely that the player would look to leave Madrid given that he is a first team player at a club that are having their most successful years for quite some time, but if the Arsenal boss is interested, it’s worth a punt.
