According to Footybunker, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a dramatic £60 million triple swoop before the end of the transfer window.
Wenger is hoping to land Lille winger Eden Hazard, Rennes holding midfielder Yann M’Vila and Lazio striker Mauro Zarate, before the 31st August deadline. The Arsenal boss has been promised the entire money raised from the sales of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona and Samir Nasri to Manchester City, to reinvest in new players and he is finally ready to splash the cash to mount a challenge for trophies this season.
Hazard, voted the French league player of the year last season after helping Lille to a league and cup double, is the stand out name of the three and has been linked with major European clubs over the last few years, including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Inter Milan and Lyon. But it is Arsenal who have monitored the Belgium international for a long period of time and they are now ready to finally get their man.
Lille however, have been reluctant to sell this summer, but may be powerless to prevent Hazard leaving if a bid in excess of £25 million is received. The 20 year-old Belgian has made it clear he is happy to stay with the French champions, but he would like to one day move to a big European club and he has not ruled out leaving this summer.
French international Yann M’Vila is believed to be the closest to joining Arsenal, as the gunners have reportedly tabled a £22 million bid to Rennes to secure his services. M’Vila, 21, has established himself as the first choice midfielder in the French national team under Laurent Blanc and his profile has risen with a number of impressive displays, most notably against England in a friendly at Wembley earlier this year.
Mauro Zarate has informed his club Lazio that he is looking to move and that has alerted Arsenal, who are looking to bring in one striker, with Nicklas Bendtner expected to leave the club. Arsene Wenger is believed to be a fan of Zarate and is willing to spend between £10-15 million to land the Argentinian.
Zarate, 24, has Premier League experience having spent half a season on loan at Birmingham City in 2008 and he impressed in his short spell at St Andrews.
Arsenal are in desperate need of reinforcements and these signings will go some way to easing the pain of Arsenal fans, who have had to see two of their star players depart this summer. Arsene Wenger is sure that these are the signings that will rejuvenate the club and turn what has been a miserable summer, into a positive one.
