Lorient are on the verge of sealing a loan deal for Arsenal and Mexico star Carlos Vela.
The length of the deal is thought to be six months though a season-long deal is still an option.
Despite his frequent excellent displays on the international front, Vela has found opportunities at Arsenal very limited, having finished the season on loan at West Brom.
The Mexican is at a crucial time in his career and will see a season away from the Emirates as the only possible option for him
With the Gunners signing Ivorian Gervinho to go along with Robin van Persie, Marouane Chamakh and Theo Walcott, it is very tough to see Vela getting a look-in this season.
It is believed the move would be favourable to Arsene Wenger too who is keen to maintain his excellent relationship with Lorient that has seen the Frenchman pick up many bargains over the years.
Reports in France suggest a deal is very close. Lorient are keen to improve their striking options having sold prolific frontman Kevin Gameiro to big spenders Paris St Germain.
