Arthur Masuaku returns to training to give West Ham a boost

West Ham United have received a timely boost ahead of their Premier League match against Everton at the weekend.

According to a report by football.london, Arthur Masuaku has returned to training and could in contention for Manuel Pellegrini ahead of the trip to Goodison Park.

The Democratic Republic of Congo international had featured in all of West Ham’s fixtures prior to the last-minute defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers and the manager will be pleased he may have him available.

Should Masuaku return to fitness before the Sunday meeting, Pellegrini may be able to select from a near clean bill of health, with just long-term absentees Winston Reid, Andy Carroll and Manuel Lanzini remaining unavailable.

West Ham are currently on a poor run of form and will head into their match at the weekend desperate to get their first Premier League points of the season.

The Verdict:

Should Masuaku be declared fit for the match against Everton, it will come as a boost to Pellegrini’s sides chances of getting points on the board.

Aaron Cresswell filled in for him during the defeat to Wolves and it was his error that led to Adama Traore’s last-minute strike and looked a little shaky at the back throughout.

However, Masuaku has not covered himself in any glory either, having been prone to making his own mistakes and Pellegrini will be hoping his side play their best football on Sunday.
