It is some longevity Artur Boruc is showing, with the Bournemouth goalkeeper recently putting pen to paper on a new one-year deal at the Vitality Stadium.

The former Poland international is 39 years of age and managed to make 12 Premier League appearances in the season that has just gone and will now be desperate to add to that in the next campaign.

You would have to wonder where that now leaves Asmir Begovic, with Bournemouth still looking to bring in a new goalkeeper this transfer window.

Bartlomiej Dragowski is the latest shot-stopper to be linked with a move to the Cherries (Sportitalia via Daily Echo) and, with Boruc having now signed a new contract, the addition of another No.1 would surely spell the end of the 31-year-old's time at the club.

Begovic was poor in the recently concluded Premier League campaign, making a host of errors that led to the opposition scoring. Bearing that in mind, Bournemouth looking for a new goalkeeper and handing Boruc a new deal comes as no surprise.

With Mark Travers also now in the frame, there is little reason for Eddie Howe to keep an underperforming goalie like Begovic around.

Travers and Boruc, fresh from signing that contract extension, can provide adequate cover for whoever comes in this transfer window.
