Ashley’s sluggishness could drive Newcastle into the ground – Report

Newcastle United fans here in the Tavern are less than pleased with how much business their side has completed so far this summer, with plenty of improvements still yet to be had.

Indeed, the Magpies have lots to improve on this summer having failed to splash the cash thus far. And, it seems as if this has not gone down well with Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez, as according to the Mirror, Benitez is waiting to sign a new five-year deal with the club until they prove they will spend.

Sadly, Rafa Benitez won’t sign a new five-year deal until the club prove that they’re willing to spend.

The Spaniard, who will enter the season with 12 months left on his deal, is disappointed that only two players have been signed by the club this window.

He is also frustrated by the potential departures of Mikel Merino to Real Sociedad and Matt Ritchie to Stoke City.

Landlord’s Verdict:

So, it looks as if Mike Ashley’s sluggishness on the transfer front could run Newcastle into the ground in the near future as Rafa Benitez may decide against signing a new deal if things don’t improve.

Indeed, the Magpies could lose one of the best managers in the whole of world football which would put them in a spot of bother, with a lack of signings this summer possibly putting them back into relegation contention next season.
