Reports from ESPN suggest that both Everton and Aston Villa have made formal offers for 17 year old Bury player Matty Foulds.
Foulds only made his debut against Leicester City in the Capital One Cup earlier this month but has impressed and had been named on Bury’s bench in every game until Tuesday’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy defeat to Morecambe.
Following interest from these clubs, Bury boss David Flitcroft confirmed that he had left the player out for the good of the club. Manager David Flitcroft told Bury’s official website:
“It’s been bubbling along for a week now and some fantastic football clubs want his services. We took a business decision to not play Matty, with the organisation and the business at the forefront of my mind, because I didn’t want this game upsetting that or getting in the way of that.”
The debate between the two sets of fans looks set to continue long into the night here at The Transfer Tavern.
