Tim Sherwood is a man on the brink at Aston Villa and his job is under increasing pressure according to the The Telegraph. Villa fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to lose patience with their manager who lost yet another Premier League game on Saturday.
Reports suggest that Sherwood is close to leaving the post he took over in February. Members of the Villa hierachy met last week to discuss the situation and it is understood that if Villa lose their next game at home to Swansea City then that might be Sherwood’s last game in charge.
Former Everton and Manchester United manager David Moyes is in the frame to take over if the axe were to fall on Sherwood, who said following the teams defeat at Chelsea on Saturday:
“I’m trying to instill in the players not to be scared to lose”
“If anyone should be scared to lose then it should be me, but I’m not. I want to go out on the front foot and if I die, I die on my sword.”
Villa have recorded only four points so far this season and three of those points came in the opening day win at Bournemouth. Sherwood is not shirking the challenge or responsibility as manager and as he did as a player will fight to the end no matter how bitter that end may be.
