Aston Villa fans around the Tavern might be concerned by their current situation, but they might not be too concerned with the latest rumours which have cast doubt on the future of two of their surplus players.
The Birmingham Mail claim that Philippe Senderos and Libor Kozak are looking to leave Villa Park sooner rather than later, with both reportedly frustrated by their lack of playing time this season in what has been a relatively poor Villa side.
Former Arsenal defender Senderos is looking for a move after growing tired of his lack of game time, having not played in over a year. The 30-year is said to be open to a move back to his native country in search of first team football, as he stated previously:
“Maybe the Swiss Super League is the ideal solution for me. I’ll try anything as I want to play matches again. I know I still have several good years ahead of me. I’ve not been able to do what I enjoy the most, I miss the pleasure of battles on the pitch, and it is frustrating.”
Meanwhile, another Villa player who is rumoured to be actively seeking a move away from England is Libor Kozak.
He was on the bench against Wycombe in the FA Cup on Saturday and he could be set to move to Italy as Gazzetta Dello Sport states that Genoa have contacted the forward, who is also frustrated by a lack of minutes, about a potential transfer.
Our landlord believes Villa must be wary who they let go, as too many departures this month will doom them to a drop in the division.
