Aston Villa

Aston Villa eye former Liverpool manager

RodgersThe Transfer Tavern has seen many disgruntled Aston Villa fans propping up the bar so far this season with the West Midlands-based club having very little to shout about.

Tim Sherwood’s side have won just one game so far this season and currently languish in the relegation zone of the Premier League. Spirits appear to have been raised today though and several Villa supporting punters are gathered around an article in the Daily Star.

The tabloid is reporting that Villa are lining-up an audacious attempt to hand recently sacked Brendan Rodgers an instant return into football management after his departure from Liverpool.

Sherwood’s colourful personality isn’t washing with Villa supporters any longer and fans of the club fear they are in serious danger of being relegated this season. A defeat to Swansea City this weekend could signal the end of Sherwood’s tenure and force the club to look elsewhere for a manager.

The landlord in the Tavern however is supportive of Sherwood and says: “Sherwood needs more time. He has signed a lot of new players in the summer and he deserves until Christmas at least.”

Villa fans… Is the landlord right? How long would you give Sherwood? What would you make of Rodgers arriving in the West Midlands?
