Some Aston Villa punters were present in the Transfer Tavern this afternoon, gathered around an article from the Metro which offered intrigue ahead of the January transfer window.
The article in question suggested that Villa could be targeting Turkish international winger Gokhan Tore, who was once on the books at Chelsea and is now flying with Besiktas in the Turkish league.
Villa boss Tim Sherwood is reportedly keen to add some width to his squad and has identified the Turk as someone who would be a useful addition.
The 23-year-old was watched by the Villa management in a recent Besiktas v Fenerbahce game and it is thought he was impressed by the player’s performances.
One of the young lads behind the bar in the Tavern also viewed the game via television and claimed Villa would be better off continuing their policy of promoting young players rather than pursuing Tore.
Villa fans… Do you agree with the young chap behind the bar? Or, would you welcome Tore? Would his signing hinder Grealish’s progress?
