Aston Villa have confirmed that goalkeeper Tom Heaton should be fit for their next Premier League fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Should Jack Grealish be in the England squad?
The 33-year-old withdrew from the England squad on Tuesday due to injury, ahead of the Three Lions Euro 2020 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
However, fears have since been eased, with the Villans moving quickly to confirm the status of Heaton, posting an update on their official Twitter account.
The tweet read: “Update: @TomHeatonGK has been withdrawn from the @England squad and has returned to Bodymoor Heath as a precaution. He is expected to be fit for the Brighton clash.”
Heaton has been an ever-present for Villa so far this season having joined from Burnley in the summer. He has started in all eight of their Premier League outings so far and has kept two clean sheets (via Transfermarkt).
News that the shot stopper’s injury is nothing serious has come as music to the ears of Villa fans, who are delighted that their number one will be between the sticks in their next Premier League outing.
Here is how some supporters reacted to the news…
Great news, him being fit for the Brighton game. Still would have had faith in Steer though.
