It was reported yesterday that Yannick Bolasie would be cutting his loan spell at Aston Villa short and returning to his parent club Everton. The Congolese winger had a few impressive moments at Villa Park but was ultimately not worth his wages and the Villains are delighted to have finally got him off their books.
#avfc fans, your thoughts on Yannick Bolasie’s loan spell being cut short?

Whilst Bolasie may have contributed two goals and five assists in his 21 Championship appearances this season, the Villains are all delighted to see the back of him. The 29-year-old was a good character to have around at the club, but when you factor in his fitness concerns and the fact that he will have been on much larger wages than the rest of the Villains’ then it makes sense for him to have left.
This is a move that has come out of nowhere and it now begs the question of what’s next for Bolasie. At the age of 29, the winger still has plenty to offer, although it looks like his career had been derailed when he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury months after his move to Everton. The next steps for the winger are yet to be decided, but the Villa Park faithful are just pleased he’s not their problem anymore.

Great news. Glimpse but not fit and not where he was at Palace. Not worth £70k in the championship. Hoping to see Andre Green get a run.

Obviously wish him all the best but Green, El Ghazi and Kodjia have to be ahead of him, and your 4th choice winger can’t be on 80k a week.

Best news since Bruce was sacked.
Was lazy, on mega money and couldn’t give a toss about us or the fight we have on our hands. Rather give Green a shot, least he’s ours and looks like he cares! #AVFC

Certainly weren't getting value for money and he was poor on sat.most probably best all round returning to Everton.

I was hoping Bolasie would be a game changer for us but even when his fitness came back he didn't live up to expectation, looking forward to @AndreGreen_ filling that void #avfc pic.twitter.com/J3dKPG8CkB

I’ll take the positives out of this! Squad needs a more youthful look. And for 70k a weeks YB has not been good enough or consistent enough. It’s going to take a while to get get squad younger and playing the right way! But Smith will get it right

70k of wages that we can use to attract new players. Positive.

good move, looks like he's chucked it lately.

Always on the cards with green returning, frees up a loan space for defender or midfielder.

The Villains seem delighted to see the back of Bolasie and will hope the wages he’s freed up can now be invested in someone else.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
