Aston Villa flop to cost club a small fortune after failed transfer

villa99The Aston Villa fans are gathered at the bar in The Transfer Tavern discussing reports that one of their high earner flops is still in line to make seven figures before his contract expires in the summer.

The Independent is reporting that Charles N’Zogbia will collect £1.3 million in wages before an expected summer exit.

N’Zogbia has been nothing but a let down since joining the club for £9.5 million from Wigan Athletic on a deal worth £63,000 a week.

The Midlands club thought they had managed to offload him during the transfer window to Greek side AEK Athens but the wide man decided against the move to let his contract run out in the stands at Villa Park.

In what has been a season of struggle with the club stranded at the bottom of the table after only two wins all seasons, this is a story that will again anger the fans at the club.

The Villa fans in The Transfer Tavern have already consigned themselves to relegation come May, and blame a lack of effort from the players and their can’t be bothered attitude as a main factor in why their side has failed to perform.

Villa fans, is there any chance you could pull off the greatest escape? Let us know in the comments below!
