Fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been staring down their empty pint glasses which could resemble the hope lost in the current campaign as news hits that chairman Randy Learner has held talks with senior staff members at the club concerning Tim Sherwood.
According to the Daily Mail Sherwood is a manager on the brink and with only one win this season, against Bournemouth, Learner is keen for a turnaround in fortunes.
There is reportedly some friction between Sherwood and Villa staff and morale seems to be low among the players with the club being in the relegation zone with only four points gained from a possible twenty-four.
Sherwood took over the club in February from Paul Lambert who was sacked and led them to Premier League survival as well as the FA Cup Final where they lost out to Arsenal.
Stories this week have linked the Real Sociedad manager David Moyes with the position at Villa, however Sherwood might be given time yet to rescue the club’s season and his job.
Villa fans, should you stick with Sherwood? Let us know in the comments below!
