Aston Villa are thought to be prepared to battle a Championship rival to sign a Premier League winger on loan this summer.
The Democratic Republic of Congo international is thought to be surplus to requirements at Goodison Park and Marco Silva is believed to be happy for him to leave the club.
However, Steve Bruce’s side will face stiff competition for the 29-year-old winger, with Middlesbrough also keen on landing him as they look to mount their own challenge of winning promotion back to the Premier League.
Bolasie may now be open to a move in the second-tier of English football, following the closure of the transfer window for Premier League clubs, as he was initially holding out for a switch to either Burnley or former club Crystal Palace.
Bolasie would certainly be a coup for Aston Villa this summer and would immediately help turn them into one of the favourites to be title contenders, let alone just competing for automatic promotion.
The 29-year-old is a talented winger and would help to create a huge attacking threat to Championship defences and could really enjoy his football once again, after suffering a serious injury last season.
However, there could be concerns over his wage demands, with the player thought to be on pay worth around £75,000-a-week.
