Aston Villa fans in The Transfer Tavern are discussing reports that the club are targeting a move for St Etienne’s head coach.
The Sun is reporting that the club are looking at Christophe Galtier as a possible replacement for Tim Sherwood, should reported first choice replacement Remi Garde continue to stall on making a decision.
Galtier began his coaching career assisting Alain Perrin during his time as manager at Marseille, Al Ain, Portsmouth and Sochaux, before joining Richard Tardy at Aris Thessaloniki.
He made the step up to head coach when appointed by St Etienne in 2009, and has been settled at the club since.
He led St Etienne to a French League Cup win during season 2012-13, he recently took charge of his 250th game for club, 105 of which his side has won.
The Aston Villa fans in The Transfer Tavern are hopeful the club can make a decision quickly, but understand that it takes time to find the right man to secure the club’s Premier League status.
