As the Aston Villa fans drink their sorrows away at the bar, some news has come though the Transfer Tavern that may spark some optimism for next season.
The Daily Mail reports that The Villains have offered David Moyes a huge transfer budget if he becomes their next manager.
Joe Bernstein from the Daily Mail has been assuring distraught Villa fans in the Tavern that Moyes is the man Aston Villa want.
The new look board is keen to try something different after their experiments with Tim Sherwood and Remi Garde where hugely unsuccessful. The board has realised that maybe the time has come to bring in an experienced name in an attempt to steady a sinking ship.
Whispers have been going round the Tavern that Moyes is interested in the post. However he wants to weigh up his other options before taking a step down into the championship.
Villa will hope to get a manager in quickly and so if Moyes does not decide soon the board may turn to Nigel Pearson or Mick McCarthy. With all three men capable of launching Aston Villa back into the Premier League, it all depends on which manager they decide is up for the job.
Aston Villa fans… Is Moyes the man to take your club back to the Premier League? Or would you prefer a different manager? Comment Bellow and tell us!
